# BYOD Information

BYOD stands for Build Your Own Device and was the sole onboarding option for new stations prior to October 14th, 2024.

While these stations are grandfathered into the network, the prerequisite hardware addon (GeoSigner) is no longer available for purchase after October 13th, 2024.

As the GeoSigner devices can be sold/traded and stations based on them will remain active on the network indefinitely, all BYOD station information has been moved to its own space on the docs site at [BYOD](https://docs.wingbits.com/byod/).
