Station Transfers

Overview

This process is appropriate for anyone that wants to buy/sell (transfer) a station to another participant. This applies to all approved hardware stations (such as a Hyfix MGW310) and Geosigners (BYOD).

These instructions can also be followed for anyone looking to move an existing station to another account they manage (perhaps for a family member).

If the approved hardware or geosigner has not been linked to a station on the network already, none of this is necessary. But, you may still want to run through the instructions to clean up your account's stations list.

Seller's Steps

Delete the station

Steps:

  1. Go to your page on the dashboard

  2. Locate the station that you wish to unlink/release prior to sale

  3. Click on the 3 dots on the far right, then click Delete

  4. You will see a popup prompt confirming the station name and that you want to delete, double check the name.

  5. Click Delete.

Your station will be unlinked from your account, removed from the stations list, and any associated host wallet will be also unlinked from the station.

You don't lose any unclaimed rewards when deleting a station and the rewards history for that station will still show in on your Overview page's chart.

Reset the device

After deleting the station from your account, if the approved device supports it, please reset to factory defaults before handing it over to someone else. This allows them to follow the normal onboarding process.

Geosigners are self-contained and have nothing to reset, but you still need to unlink them from your account/station using the deletion steps above.

Buyer's Steps

Confirm hardware was unlinked

If you are a buyer, verify with the seller that they have followed the Seller's Stepsabove prior to selling/transfering the device to you.

If they have not unlinked the hardware by deleting the associated station, you will not be able to onboard and our support will be unable to help.

Onboard normally

You will want to locate the pages on this docs site for creating a station and onboarding the device. From a Wingbits perspective, you are a participant with a brand new device (new to you).
